Digital Summer ~ Now Playing the theme to From Hel, With Love

My friend and fellow author, Blue Remy, has really exciting news! Digital Summer is now playing the theme music to her upcoming Dark Fantasy/Paranormal Romance, From Hel, With Love.

Raven Aquilus and her motley crew land in the middle of an ancient war when someone starts murdering the guardians of the Nine Gates of Hell.  Raven is forced to enlist FBI Paranormal Agent Duncan O'Brien on her journey to discover who is killing the Guardians. Duncan is all about control; Raven, dark and intoxicating - Both must fight their emotions to work together.  Raven must stop the killer before she loses everything she loves.

So check out a little from Digital Summer...

From the moment she laid her eyes on me
I knew how dangerous she could be
Lips like a knife that cut through me
She takes advantage 'cause she knows I'm weak

Come on, she says she knows you want
Come on, come on but then she owns you

And I hate how somehow I always give in
To those lips that can paralyze
Though I know that she is the devil
She's so beautiful, so evil

I can't fight that she controls me
Should have known she'd be so deadly
To touch, to take, to want to need
This desire is torture that I bleed

Come on, she says she knows you want
Come on, come on but then she owns you

And I hate how somehow I always give in
To those lips that can paralyze
Though I know that she is the devil
She's so beautiful, so evil
She's so evil

From Heaven to Hell and everything between
The most evil evil that you've ever seen
Biting her lips she knows it kills me
Skin like a drug but more addictive

And I hate how somehow I always give in
To those lips that can paralyze
Though I know that she is the devil
She's so beautiful, so evil
She's so evil
She's so beautiful, so evil

Lost in Lyrics ~ The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot

The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot perfectly encompasses the feeling I wanted to portray for Take This Regret. The music is sad, the lyrics powerful as they depict a man struggling to pay retribution for his sins, never knowing if he'll be forgiven though willing to do anything to make that happen. This probably won't be the last you'll see of Brand New on Lost in Lyrics ~ They're one of my favorite bands, writing music that just gives me that feel. Enjoy!

"The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot"

If it makes you less sad, I will die by your hand
Hope you find out what you are; already know what I am
And if it makes you less sad, we'll start talking again
You can tell me how vile I already know that I am
I'll grow old, start acting my age
It'll be a brand new day in a life that you hate
A crown of gold, a heart that's harder than stone
And it hurts to hold on, but it's missed when it's gone

Call me a safe bet, I'm betting I'm not
I'm glad that you can forgive, only hoping as time goes, you can forget

If it makes you less sad, I'll move out of this state
You can keep to yourself, I'll keep out of your way
And if it makes you less sad, I'll take your pictures all down
Every picture you paint, I will paint myself out
It's cold as a tomb, and it's dark in your room
When I sneak to your bed to pour salt in your wounds
So call it quits, or get a grip
You say you wanted a solution; you just wanted to be missed

Call me a safe bet, I'm betting I'm not
I'm glad that you can forgive, only hoping as time goes, you can forget
So you can forget, you can forget

You are calm and reposed
Let your beauty unfold
Pale white, like the skin stretched over your bones
Spring keeps you ever close
You are second-hand smoke
You are so fragile and thin, standing trial for your sins
Holding on to yourself the best you can
You are the smell before rain
You are the blood in my veins

Call me a safe bet, I'm betting I'm not
I'm glad that you can forgive, only hoping as time goes, you can forget
